India needs growth rate of around 8 percent to generate more job opportunities :Jayant Sinha

Union Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha Wednesday said India needs a sustainable and non-inflationary growth trajectory 7 to 8 percent in the coming years to generate more job opportunities.
Addressing a high level corporate conference on climate change and sustainable development goal in New Delhi, Sinha said, the country has not done enough to promote sustainable growth since several years.
He said the need of the hour is to follow the growth which leads to less carbon emissions and more sustainability adding that India is facing huge challenges on the changing environment front and there is need to protect the economy for it.
He said the innovation is the only way forward to solve the environmental problems to ensure sustainable growth in future.
