India-S.Africa T20 International To Be Played In October-November In Dharmasala : Anurag Thakur

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association will be hosting the T-20 International to be played between South Africa and India in October- November at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.

HPCA president Anurag Thakur said an international T-20 game has been given to the association after successfully hosting of one day internationals. “It is a great opportunity for the association and state to maximize the benefits of this opportunity for tourism,” said Anurag Thakur.

HPCA secretary Mohit Sood thanked Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary Anurag Thakur for allotting this prestigious game.

He said all the arrangements and preparations will begin at the earliest for hosting this prestigious assignment.

He assured all stakeholders that the association will make the state proud and will also get more international games to the small hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. “The association feels that this game will bring back the focus on tourism in Dharamshala after the same was missed in the Indian Premier League this year,” said General Secretary Vishal Marwah.

South Africa will be touring India in October – November. They will be playing four Tests, five ODIs and three T20 internationals on their tour to India. The exact date for the match is still not revealed.

This series will be looked at as the biggest series for India this year. The team will also aim to balance out accounts with South Africa, after they were beaten by SA in December 2014, which was the last time that the two teams played a series against each other.
