India’s Forex Reserves Decline by $4.9 Billion to $780.8 Billion

India’s foreign exchange reserves declined by 4.9 billion US dollars (USD) to 780.8 billion US dollars during the week ended the 11th of September.

According to the Reserve Bank of India data, Gold reserves declined 2.5 billion USD to 111.2 billion US dollars during the week. Foreign currency assets, the largest component of the reserves, dropped by 2.3 billion USD to 645.7 billion USD.

However, Special Drawing Rights gained from 39 million USD to 18.8 billion USD. The country’s reserve position with the International Monetary Fund remained unchanged at 4.9 billion USD.
