Injured sniffer dog shifted to Chennai for treatment

CRPF will shift its sniffer dog, injured in a blast during the detection of an IED at Hatamunigada on the Rayagada-Muniguda road in Rayagada District for treatment to Chennai.

CRPF Commandant of 4th Battalion Manoj Kumar Sharma said Alex, the Belgian Shepherd was injured during the bandh called by the Left Wing extremists on November 3 last to protest against the killing of 28 Maoists in a combing operation conducted jointly by Andhra Pradesh-Odisha security security personnel on November 24 last in Malkangiri.

Sharma said the dog would be shifted to Chennai for better treatment on the recommendation of the Chief Veterinary officer of the district.BM
