IRCTC Set To Venture Into Speciality Restaurant, Bar Business
29 June, New Delhi
In a bid to make an entry into the business of fine dining restaurants at hotels across the country, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a PSU of the Indian Railways, will be soon opening a speciality restaurant in the ITDC-run Hotel Janpath here.
”IRCTC is in the final phase of negotiations with ITDC to get some space at Hotel Janpath. We are planning to develop and operate the space by launching an IRCTC-branded speciality restaurant with bar and banquet facilities,” Manager, PR, IRCTC, Sandip Dutta said.
IRCTC also intends to showcase its venture at Hotel Janpath as its flagship property of this business, Mr Dutta said.
In addition, it also plans to engage an established consultant for setting up this flagship property and building its brand and image. Once the restaurant becomes functional, it will create a niche in the Fine Dining Restaurant segment, thereby expanding the horizons of IRCTCs overall catering business, Mr Dutta said
