Maan Ki Baat : PM Voices Concern Over High Number Of Deaths On Indian Roads

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday said government is going introduce the Road Transport and Safety Bill very soon which will offer cash less treatment to accident victims.
In his Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio, Modi expressed concern over high number of deaths on Indian roads. He said one death occurs in the country every four minutes and every life is very precious.
Modi said a toll free number 1033, ambulance for patients and how the victim will be treated well in the first 50 hours after the accident occur will be given priority in the proposed bill.
Speaking on the 10th edition of Mann ki Baat, the Prime minister paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil war. Modi complimented the farmers for 50 per cent increase in sowing of pulses and 33 per cent in oil seeds in this season.
Modi said, mygov portal which started on July 26th last year has been instrumental in public participation in developmental activities of the government. He said over two crore people have accessed my gov during this period. The Prime minister said he has been receiving comments on Mygov about his Independence Day speech.
Emphaising on the development of the North Eastern states, the Prime minister said the bureaucrats from Centre have been asked to camp for seven days in the each north eastern states to have a first hand account and solve the problems.
To encourage science learning among the children, the prime minister said the Human Resource department has started Rashtriya Aviskar Abhiyan.
Saying his priority to provide 24×7 electricity to the remotest village of the country, the Prime minister said the government has started Deendayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti programme.
The Prime minister said the government has started a system for differently-abled people to avail tickets through IRCTC website after Akhilesh Vajpayee of Kanpur has given this suggestion on mygov.
Commending the work done by Nagpur division Railway TTE Bijay Biswal, the Prime Minister said workers like him have become Karma Yogi.
Modi said working in Railways, Mr Biswal paints on different issues of railways. The Prime minister showered praises the government employees of Harda district in Madhya Pradesh for starting an innovative ‘Brother number one’ competition to celebrate Raksha Bandhan,where brothers will gift a toilet to their sisters.
