Modiji Stop Giving Speeches And Start Working: Rahul
08 November, New Delhi
Congratulating Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and members of Congress on the victory of the Grand Alliance in the Bihar Assembly polls, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi Sunday said the state assembly results were a victory of unity over divisiveness.
In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Gandhi said, ”It is time for him to stop giving speeches and campaigning and start working, otherwise people will throw him out.”
”The results of the Bihar assembly polls are a message for Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the BJP and RSS cannot divide the country,” Gandhi told reporters here.
”He should stop travelling abroad and instead meet farmers and start working for them,” Mr Gandhi said.Talking a swipe at Prime Minister Modis frequent rallies, Gandhi said, Aap ki gaadi ek saal se bandh padhi hai Gaadi start kijiye… accelerator dabayiye Agar aap accelerator nahi dabayenge, log aapko gaadi se bahar nikalenge (the entire nation is telling Mr Modi to stop speeches and campaigning and start working. Modi, your vehicle has been down for the last one year. Start your vehiclepress the escalator.. if you do not do so, people will throw you out of the vehicle). The nation has waited for one year.
Gandhi said the victory in the state was not against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) but against the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
This is a defeat of hatred, arrogance and anger,” he said and hoped that ”the verdict of the Bihar polls would tone down the arrogance of the Modi Government”.
”I want Mr Modi to tone down his arrogance, it will be good for him and for the nation as well,” Gandhi said.
