NDA Objective To Bring Land Ordinance is An Attempt To Pay Back ‘Loan’ Of industrialists : Rahul
19 April, New Delhi
Lambasting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks that he is cleaning up garbage of the last 50 years, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today said the comment does not do justice to his post.
“Modi ji went to foreign countries, he said he is wiping the garbage of the last 50 years. I felt very sad on this. I want to ask him whether he is not able to see the toil and sweat of farmers. The words Modi ji spoke does not augur well to the post of PM or himself,” Rahul said at a massive rally organised by the Congress at Ramlila Maidan to protest against the Land Ordinance brought by the NDA government.
The PM had made the comments during his recent three-nation tour to France, Germany and Canada.
In a strong attack on the Government, the Congress vice-president, for whom the rally was a relaunch vehicle after his return from his 56 day sabbatical earlier this week, termed it as a pro-corporate Government and alleged that the NDA objective to bring the Ordinance was an attempt to pay back ‘loan’ of industrialists.
On the other they are trying to weaken the Land Bill to divest the farmers of their land. The reality is that the BJP has taken huge loans from the corporates to win the elections which they now want to repay by giving the farmers land to the industrialists. Hence, they are taking steps to weaken the Land Bill,he said.
Through the Gujarat model, Modi ji showed that he can snatch the land of farmers quite easily and convinced the industrialists that he can do the same in the whole country. This is Modi’s model — weaken the foundation, then attach a ladder to the building, paint it and show to the world that the building is shining,” Gandhi said
In this context, he said there is no possibility of the ‘Make in India’ plan of the government to generate employment.
