New First Citizens named for TN, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal, Meghalaya, A&N Islands

President Ramnath Kovind has appointed new First Citizens for Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique stated here on Saturday.

Mr Banwarilal Purohit was named the new Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr Satya Pal Malik (Bihar), Mr Ganga Prasad (Meghalaya), and Brig (Dr) BD Misra (Arunachal Pradesh). Lt.Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Prof Jagdish Mukhi, will be the new Governor of Assam, making way for Admiral (retd) Devendra Kumar Joshi.

”The appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices,” the communique added.
