NPAs Rise To Rs 2.67 Lakh Cr In PSU Banks

The problem of non-performing assets got aggravated with increase in bad loans to Rs 2.67 lakh crore at the end of March,2015 from Rs 2.16 lakh crore on the same date in the previous year.
Gross NPA of the state-owned banks went up to 5.43 per cent from 4.72 per cent , Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha Tuesday said , adding such bad loans are increasing continuously.
He said both the government and Reserve Bank of India are concerned over the level of NPAs in the banking system .
The PSU banks have stepped up recovery efforts and recovered Rs 41,236 crore in 2014-15.
