Odisha CM announces govt medical college for Keonjhar district

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday announced the setting up of a government run medical college in the mineral rich Keonjhar district at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore.
Addressing a public meeting during his day-long visit to Keonjhar, Mr Patnaik said the establishment of a medical college was a long standing demand of the people of Keonjhar.
He said the state government has taken this decision to respect the sentiments and demands of the people and hoped that it will help in providing qualitative health care to the people of the district, more particularly the tribals of the area.
The Chief Minister also announced a fly over at Joda to ease the traffic problem and laid foundation stones of several projects in the district.
He also inaugurated the housing scheme project for the poor people in the mine areas and handed over work order to 13,500 beneficiaries for construction of houses.BM
