Odisha First State To Auction 10 Mines As Per New MMDR Act

Odisha is all set to go for auction of 10 mines in the first phase confirming the new MMDR Act 2015.

According to Odisha Minister of Mines Prafulla Kumar Mallick on Friday,the auction of 10 mines would be held in December as per the new MMDR Act 2015, notification for which will be held this month.

Out of the 16 mines selected for auction, 10 mines would be auctioned in the first phase, Mallick said.

Odisha is the first state in the country to go for auction of the mines as per the new MMDR Act, he said.

The Minister said the DGPS survey for all the 10 mines had already been completed and the mines are likely to be auctioned towards the last week of December.

SBI has been entrusted with the task of auctioning the mines located in Jajpur, Keonjhar and Sundergarh districts.
