Odisha Truckers Threatens Indefinite Strike From June 10

Odisha State Truck Owners’ Federation has threatened to launch a state-wide strike from the 10th of June if the state government fails to fulfill its 11-point charter of demands.
Association general secretary Rabi Satpathy told reporters that the truck owners strongly protest the decision of the government to cancel fitness certificate, road permit and registration certificate of a truck without any investigation in case of an accident.
He demanded immediate revocation of the order with immediate effect. He also said more than 1.3 lakh trucks will stay off the roads bringing vital transport operations to a standstill if the circular is not withdrawn.
