Petrol price hike by Rs 3.07 per litre, diesel by Rs 1.90

Petrol price was hiked by Rs 3.07 per litre and diesel by Rs 1.90 per litre effective from midnight Wednesday, the Indian Oil Corporation said.
” After Wednesday’s revision, a litre of petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 59.68, while diesel will retail at Rs 48.33/litre, said Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest retailer. Petrol price in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai will cost Rs 63.76, Rs 65.79 and Rs 59.13 a litre respectively,” an official statement said.
It added that movement of prices in India are influenced by global rates while the Global crude prices have been on the rise ahead of a key meeting of oil producers meet next month which will discuss a proposal to freeze output.Petrol and diesel prices were last revised on February 29 when petrol cost was cut by Rs 3 a litre to Rs 56.61 per litre and the diesel prices were raised Rs 1.47 per litre to Rs 46.43 per litre.
