PM Modi convenes meeting of Oppn parties ahead of Budget session of Parliament

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has convened a meeting ofmajor Opposition parties tomorrow ahead of the crucial Budget session of Parliament beginning February 23 to smoothen out hurdles in the way of implementation of the much-delayedGoods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and other economic legislation.
Leaders of major political parties in both Houses of Parliament have been invited to tomorrow’s meeting, BJP sources informed today.
According to party sources, Modi will seek cooperation of the Opposition MPs in smooth running of Parliament, which has seen important legislation delayed due tothe ruling party not having a majority in the Rajya Sabha.
In fact, the PM has openly blamed the Congress leadership for the delay in the passage of important legislation.
