PM Modi To Meet Pakistani Counterpart Nawaz Sharif In Russia Friday Morning

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif will meet in Ufa tomorrow (Friday) morning on the sidelines of the SCO Summit.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup confirmed this in his tweet today. He tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif will have a bilateral meeting in Ufa tomorrow at 9.15 am on sidelines of SCO Summit.

Modi and Sharif had last met in Kathmandu in November at the SAARC Summit where they did not have a bilateral meeting. Earlier at the beginning of the holy month of Ramzan, Prime Minister Modi had called Sharif and extended his best wishes while stressing the need for having peaceful bilateral ties.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. Prime Minister, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday, held his first bilateral meeting with Iranian President Thursday .

Swarup said that the talks were mainly on advancing the partnership with Iran.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also schedule to meet President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff and South African President Jacob Zuma later today.
