PM Modi’s Rally In Srinagar Tomorrow
06 November, Srinagar
Sharp shooters from different security agencies have taken position in and around S K stadium, the venue for Prime Minister Narendra Modis rally tomorrow in the high security Sonawar area of summer capital.
It was 2004 November when a fidayeen attack was foiled near the venue and the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singhs rally was rescheduled and held in the afternoon.
Elite Special Protection Group (SPG) has already taken over the security of the entire stadium, where all sports activities have been stopped and the area has been declared out of bounds for civilians for the past one week.
Sophisticated bullet proof vehicles have already arrived here for the Prime Minister, who will be travelling mostly in the helicopter.
All roads leading to stadium have been sealed 24 hours before the rally. Road blocks have been put up at Dalgate and no vehicle was being allowed towards the stadium. However, those coming from Sonawar to Dalgate were being allowed after their proper checking and frisking of passengers. Similar road blocks were seen at Radio Kashmir, Srinagar crossing and Gupkar road.
All sports activities, including C K Naidu cricket match between Jammu and Kashmir and Hyderabad was also shifted to Hyderabad in view of PMs rally.
The stadium was declared out of bounds for civilians a week ago and nobody, even media persons were not allowed to go inside.
Hundreds of paramilitary forces besides state police personnel remained deployed in and outside the stadium, before it was handed over to NSG and Black Commandos.
The paramilitary and state police personnel provides security cover from outside and in the adjoining areas.
