President Pranab Mukherjee Embarks On 4-Day Tour Of Russia Thursday

President Pranab Mukherjee is leaving tomorrow, Thursday on a four days tour of Russia, to take part in the Victory Day celebrations that mark the victory of allied forces in the Second World War. The President will witness the march past on Red square in Moscow on Saturday, in which the Grenadiers Regiment of Indian army will also take part.

The seventy member contingent of Nine Grenadiers will march along with the Russian Red Army. During the visit, the President will also receive honorary Doctorate from the Russian Diplomatic Academy.

Thereafter he will hold bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin and address the Indian community in Moscow and attend a cultural exchange programme called Namaste India.

The President’s visit to Russia will reinforce and expand the bilateral relations between the two countries and highlight the important role of Indian soldiers during the second world war.
