Qualification Row : Delhi Court Takes Cognizance Of complaint Filed Against Smriti Irani

A Delhi court has taken cognizance of complaint filed against HRD Minister Smriti Irani for allegedly giving false information about her educational qualification.
The trial court fixed Aug 28 for recording pre-summoning evidence in the complaint filed against Irani.
On June 1,Metropolitan Magistrate Akash Jain had reserved the order on the plea after hearing arguments on the aspect of limitation and whether cognizance can be taken or not.
The complaint was filed by freelance writer Ahmer Khan, who said that there were several discrepancies in Irani’s affidavits filed before the Election Commission.
