Rajnath Singh Asks J&K Govt. To Put Activities of Hurriyat Leaders Under Surveillance

04 May, New Delhi

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department to put the activities of Hurriyat leaders under surveillance and take appropriate legal action in case of any adverse activities.

The fresh directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs came a day after Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, while talking to reporters in Ahmedabad promised action against those responsible for waving Pakistani flags at Friday’s rally addressed by Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani.

Sayeed had rejected Geelani’s demand to curtail the duration of the Amarnath Yatra to 30 days from the planned 59 days and said it will take place as scheduled.
