Raosaheb Danve Re-Elected As Maharashtra State BJP President

Senior BJP leader Raosaheb Danve-Patil was unanimously elected as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit president for the second consecutive term here, Monday.

National Vice-President of the Party Pursottam Rupala, who was appointed as Observer for the election, announced that Danve has been elected unopposed as president of state unit of BJP.

He further said the party had asked suggestion from Chief Minister Devendra Fandavis for the name of Presidential candidate.

Fandavis suggested Danve’s name for the post and considering his work in the first term, the party has decided to give him second term for the post.

Danve has been elected as Member of Parliament from Jalna Constituency in 2014 general election for the fourth time. Immediately after that, he was sworn in by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. But later, he was sent to Maharashtra as state unit president.
