Rourkela Ispat General Hospital To Be Upgraded To Medical College : PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday announced to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) , Rourkela into a Super Speciality Hospital and open a Medical College for the people of the region.

Modi, who was in the steel city to dedicate theexpansion and modernisation of the Rourkela Steel plant(RSP) tothe nation, made the announcement later at a public meeting.

The Prime Minister said politicians normally forget the promises they make before the elections. ”I am not a politician but a sevak of the people and I have not forgotten the promises made during my last visit to the city on April 4 last year.”

He said the hospital would be one of the best in India. Doctors produced in the medical college, Modi said, should be the finest in the country and provide best service to the people of the region.

Modi also announced that a second bridge over the river Brahamani will be constructed for better connectivity with the steel city.
