SAD-BJP Alliance Sweeps Municipal Corporation Polls in Punjab

In Punjab, the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance has swept the Municipal Corporation polls.
The polls were held on the 22nd of this month.

All the cities of Mohali, Phagwara, Hoshiarpur, Moga, and Bhatinda will have SAD-BJP Mayors.Out of a total of 301 wards, SAD-BJP alliance have won 167 wards, SAD was declared winner in 82 wards, while the BJP
won in 85 wards.

Congress has won in 68 wards, BSP in two and Independents have in 64 wards. All these corporations have 50 seats each.

Bye-election was held to two seats of Patiala Corporation and for one seat of Jalandhar Corporation. While Patiala seat has been won by SAD, Jalandhar seat has been won by Congress.
