Togadia Banned From Entering Phubani

The Kandhamal district administration in Odisha imposed a ban on the proposed Feb 28 visit of VHP president Praveen Togadia to the district headquarter town, Phulbani, according to official sources..

The Hindu Leader is scheduled to address religious convention in Phulbani on Saturday.

The Kandhamal administration, in a bid to maintain law and order, has denied permission for his entry into the district and slapped a prohibitory order under Section 144 across the district. The order will remain in force for a week.

A group of Christian organisations have urged the district administration to ban entry of Togadia into the district, fearing his inflammatory speech to disturb communal harmony in the area.

Meanwhile, protesting the order of District administration ,the VHP has called for a 12-hour bandh in the district Saturday , the scheduled day of Togadia’s visit.
