SC Issues Notice To AAP Govt. Over Delhi HC Order On MHA notification

Delhi High Court Friday issued notice to the Centre on AAP government’s plea challenging MHA notification on Lt Governor ‘s power to post bureaucrats.

The Court wanted to know whether in past the Union Territories were allowed to post or move bureaucrats and sought information in this regard.

The High Court said said the LG will deliberate upon AAP govt’s proposal on allocating work to different bureaucrats.

In another case, the Court said it will hear on August 5 a PIL challenging the Centre’s recent notification giving the Lt Governor absolute powers in appointing bureaucrats in the national capital.

A bench of the Court while listing the matter for August 5, said by then either the Supreme Court would decide it on the Centre’s plea or the single judge would take a decision on the issue which has also been raised by the Delhi government.
