Six Tripura TMC MLAs to join BJP on Aug 7

Six Trinamool Congress MLAs headed by Sudip Roy Barman are all set to formally join the BJP on August 7 next in a mass rally here while the decision of joining of dissident Congress legislator Ratan Lal Nath is still not decided, BJP sources said Thursday.
Besides, six legislators thousands of their followers are also scheduled to join in BJP.The decision was taken after meeting of five MLAs – Sudip Roy Barman, Ashis Kumar Saha, D C Hrangkhwal, Pranajit Singha Roy and Biswabandhu Sen had meeting with BJP national in New Delhi last evening.
They are scheduled to meet BJP national president Amit Saha tomorrow along with Assam’s Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.The ailing Trinamool MLA Dilip Sarkar is also given consent to follow the suit of five of his colleagues in regard to joining BJP.
The MLAs will be joining in presence of Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, state president Biplab Kumar Deb and Observer Sunil Deodhar.
A sizable number of Trinamool leaders and supporters on will assemble in Vivekananda Stadium and hold a rally in the city before reaching in front of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan to attend the gathering.
According to BJP insiders, veteran Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath has been delaying the process of joining to avoid anti-defection law.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu will address a massive rally of BJP’s Janajati Morcha in Swami Vivekananda Stadium on August 9 next to mark the observance of International Indigenous Day from where BJP will formally launch election campaign quit communist movement in the state.
