Sonia, Rahul ‘Fading Dynasty’, Indulging In Politics Of Despair: Akbar

Launching a scathing attack on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi, BJP spokesman M J Akbar called them “a fading dynasty,” indulging in “politics of despair.”

Akbar’s attack comes in the wake of Gandhis leading a protest procession of Congress partymen today to President Pranab Mukharjee’s door against the “intolerance” raising head against the “voice of dissent” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi rule.

A morally and politically bankrupt Congress leadership is playing with fire by stoking up sectarian passions for electoral gain through the projection of falsehoods. It is a desperate attempt by a fading dynasty to retain marginal relevance at a time when it is facing utter disaster in the Bihar elections. The empty spaces at Rahul Gandhis meetings in Bihar provide a visual foretaste of the results to come. The dynasty is indulging in the politics of despair, having run out of ideas and lost all mooring to reality,” Akbar said.

“Sonia Gandhi should be leading demonstrations in Bengaluru against her own government for not being able to arrest a single person in the tragic death of rationalist MM Kalburgi, to give only one instance of its hypocrisy and dubious morals,” he said.

“The Congress has become the real enemy of peace, social harmony and economic progress in the nation. We assert that the people of Bihar will not be fooled by such tactics, and voters in the Hindi heartland state will continue to go to exercise their franchise in the spirit of harmony that they have displayed,” he added.

“The dynasty has also been rattled by the further revelations of corruption by the son-in-law of Ms Sonia Gandhi, Robert Vadra. False drama will not screen these facts from the people,” Akbar added.

The spokesman termed Modi as “the most powerful voice against bigotry and prejudice.”Hindus and Muslims can either fight each other or they can unite to conquer the common enemy, poverty,” Akbar said, quoting Modi, to prove his point.
