SunEdison To Provide 180 MW Power To Delhi

SunEdison, the worlds leading renewable energy development company has signed a long term power purchase agreement with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) to provide 180 megawatt of solar power for the people of New Delhi.

The company provides customers with asset management, operations, and maintenance, monitoring and reporting service, SunEdison President Pashupathy Gopalan told mediapersons here.

The company also provides power to over 6 million people in Indias capital city. The solar power plants for this project will be built in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, and would supply electricity for the next 20 years.

This project makes a direct and powerful contribution towards Indias goal of generating 100 gigawatt of solar power by 2022, Mr Gopalan said.
SunEdison has emerged as one of the largest solar companies in the country, having installed about 200 MW of solar power in various locations in India and has several projects in the pipeline.

SunEdison India claims to have committed to the Government to develop 15,200 MW over the next ten years in India.
