Ten Opposition Parties To Organise March To Rashtrapati Bhawan Protesting Land Bill

Ten opposition parties including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress and the Left parties will stage a march against the Land Acquisition Bill to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Tuesday and submit a memorandum to the President.

Attacking the BJP-led government for making changes in the Land Acquisition Act, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav said the Ordinance has diluted the previous Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Alleging that the bill is against the interest of farmers, Yadav said, the government has brought a bill to replace the Ordinance, which is being opposed by almost all opposition parties.

The Lok Sabha had passed the controversial bill with a total of nine amendments last week.
