Thakur slams HP CM over relocation of Indo-Pak WT20 tie

ICCI Secretary Anurag Thakur Wednesday slammed Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and held him responsible for the relocation of the much-awaited India-Pakistan ICC World T20 tie from Dharamshala to Kolkata.

Terming Himachal Chief Minister’s response as a negative one, Thakur said,” The HP Govt has once again showed that for them its family first, party next and nation last.”

Lashing out at the Chief Minister and state government, Thakur, who is the BJP MP from Hamirpur in Himachal said, “Nations across the globe crave for hoisting the World Cup. We (BCCI) have put all our effort to organise this match but the state government’s attitude was disappointing because of which the International Cricket Council (ICC) was compelled to shift the match to Kolkata.”

“Not only the ICC but the fans will also have to bear a huge loss now because of this relocation at last minute. For the first time in ICC’s history, the world organisation had to face such a weird situation,” said he.
