Union Govt. Ask Municipal Bodies,Industries To Furnish Action Plan For Sewage Treatment Within 15 Days

The Centre has asked municipal bodies and industries to furnish action plan for the sewage treatment and trade effluent within 15 Days.

An official release from the Ministry of Water resources said that National Mission on Clean Ganga has directed 118 municipalities and urban local bodies in five states to furnish action plans on reducing pollution.

The action plans sought are about construction and installation of requisite equipments of the sewage treatment plants by such municipalities and real time monitoring for the discharge of trade effluents for abatement of pollution by the industries.

It said, River Ganga is facing serious threat due to discharge of increasing quantities of sewage effluents, trade effluents and other pollutants on account of rapid urbanization and industrialization.
