UP CM Akhilesh Yadav Announces Sops For Legislators

The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced several sops for state legislators on the last day of budget session Thursday .

Now the members belonging to both the houses, will get monthly coupons of Rs 80,000 instead of Rs 60,000.​

They have been allowed to use these coupons to replenish diesel and petrol in their vehicles as well. This concession will also be available to ex legislators.

Besides, the government has also enhanced the basic salary of the legislators from Rs 8000/- to 10000/-.

Legislators till now used to get a basic pay of Rs.8,000, a constituency allowance of Rs.22,000 and Rs.10,000 each as secretarial and medical allowance.

Other than this, they are also entitled to free rail travel of Rs.125,000 in a year and a monthly telephone bill of Rs.6,000.
