Veteran Communist Leader A B Bardhan Remains In “Critical” Condition

The condition of veteran communist leader A B Bardhan, who was admitted to G B Pant Hospital after he suffered a paralytic stroke on Monday, continued to be “critical” Tuesday.

According to CPI leader Atul Kumar Anjan, “he (Bardhan) is still critical and doctors have kept him under close observation.” Ninety-one-year-old Bardhan was rushed to GB Pant Hospital around 0845 hrs yesterday after he complained of breathlessness.

He was admitted to the emergency wing and senior doctors of the hospital were taking care of him.His wife, a professor in Nagpur University, died in 1986.

The couple has a son and a daughter.Many senior leaders, including party leader D Raja, Anjaan and Janta Dal (U) chief Sharad Yadav, visited the nonagenarian in hospital Monday.
