WB CM Mamata Orders CID Probe In To Alleged Gang Rape Of Nun In Nadia District

The West Bengal Government has ordered a CID probe over alleged gang rape of a nun in Nadia district on Saturday.

The Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Bannerjee has strongly condemned the incident which took place inside a convent school at Ranaghat in Nadia District last night.

Describing the incident as horrific Ms. Bannerjee said that the agency will examine all aspects of the crime and she assured strongest action to be taken against the culprits.

According to official sources a group of armed men entered into the school for dacoity and allegedly gang raped the Sister superior who had tried to resist them.

The dacoits tied up the security guards of the school and went on rampage inside the convent. The nun is critically injured and has been admitted to a Hospital. Local people blocked roads and trains in protest against the incident.
