Woman Pilot ,Six Pilgrims Killed As Chopper Crashes In Katra

In Jammu and Kashmir, a helicopter crashed Monday in Katra, the base camp of Vaishno Devi shrine, killing six pilgrims and a woman pilot.

According to officials sources, the chopper Himalayan-5, which was carrying pilgrims from Sanjichat helipad in Trikuta hills crashed at new bus stand area in Katra.

Quoting sources, AIRF correspondent reports, the helicopter developed a technical snag immediately after take off.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has expressed grief over the death of seven persons in a helicopter crash when they were coming back after having Darshan at Vaishnodevi Devi Shrine.

In his condolence message, Sayeed expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
