Odisha BJP demands arrest of BJD MLA for allegedly attacking Lady OAS Officer

BJP Odisha unit president Basant Panda Sunday demanded the immediate arrest of ruling BJD Begunia MLA Prashant Jagdev for allegedly attacking a women Odisha Administrative Officer (OAS).

As per the allegation, Jagdev attacked Bolgarha Tehsildar Niharika Nayak an OAS officer on November 1 when she sought a day’s time to demolish an unauthorised construction.

Panda said while the case is under investigation, the clean chit given to the MLA by the state Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Bijayshree Routray is”unfortunate and shocking.”
The BJP leader alleged that the Minister has given the clean chit on the direction of the Chief Minister.

He said while the Chief Minister always says the law will take its own course but in reality it is not happening.

Panda alleged that the MLA was involved in a number of incidents like a brawl with Puri District Superintendent of Police during Nabakalebar, assaulting the BJP workers at Manamunda in Boudh district, creating an unpleasant scene in capital hospital during the SUM hospital fire and abusing Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Sanjay Das Burma and opposed the efforts to protect him.BM
