Training the spotlight on empowerment of poor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said their goals are also the dreams of the government .

“The priorities of my Government are to change the life of the poor through various schemes. None of the poor desire to continue bequeathing the legacy of poverty to the next generation,” Modi said, addressing a function at Bada Lalpur in trans-Varuna area here after inaugurating Pt Deen Dayal Handicraft Complex, constructed at the cost of around Rs 300 crores within stipulated time.

Emotionally associating the poor especially the weavers, artisans and others, the Prime Minister said, ”Our government had taken several courageous decisions and steps to transform the life of the poor and other sections of society.”

The results of the decisions, Modi asserted, are visible across the nation.

Modi said the complex would not only change the life of the weavers and artisans socially and economically but also help to promote the tourism and culture of the holy city, appealing to all rickshaw pullers and taxi drivers to bring the tourists to this grand centre to know about Varanasi and its glorious traditions. ”It would also improve the economy of the city as well as of entire eastern Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

Development is the only solution to all problems, said Modi, adding that keeping this mantra in mind his government had not hesitated to take bold steps totally contrary to previous regimes which had based most of their decisions keeping their vote bank in mind.
