Alleged Sexual Harassment Fall Out : RK Pachauri Resigns as Chairman UN’s IPCC

R K Pachauri Tuesday resigned as Chairman of the United Naiton’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) after facing allegations of sexual harassment.

A researcher at Delhi-based The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has alleged thatr Pachauri began harassing her soon after she joined the TERI in September 2013. Dr Pachauri has denied the charges.

Pachauri in a letter to TERI said that he was proceeding on leave to ensure the inquiry against him. Mr Pachauri has quit days after the police began investigating charges that he sexually harassed a 29-year-old woman employee in Delhi.
