Pak Boat explosion issue : Coastguard DIG Loshali removed , to Face Board of Inquiry

Government has removed Coastguard DIG B K Loshali to face a board of inquiry at Gandhinagar. DIG Loshali, who was Chief of Staff at the Northwest region, had contradicted Defence Ministry’s version on the explosion of a Pakistani boat on the night of December 31st, last year.

Defence Ministry and the Coast Guard had maintained that the crew on board had set the board on fire when it was chased by Coast Guard ships off Porbandar coast. DIG Loshali had said at a function that it was in fact the Coast Guard which had blown up the Pakistani boat.

However, later, Loshali claimed that he was misquoted by media and tendered an apology which was found unsatisfactory by the Defence Ministry.
