WB Govt. to Bring LWE Districts under Mobile and Internate Coverage

The West Bengal Government has decided to bring Left Wing Extremists (LWE) affected areas in three Districts of the State under mobile and internet coverage. According to the State Home Department sources, the initiatives have been taken for better policing and to cater the needs of modern communication technology to the people residing in the area.
Parts of Bankura, Purulia and West Midnapur Districts known as Jungle Mahal have remained inaccessible from modern communication network due to militant activities of the Left Wing Extremists. But as the time passed the activism of such group in the Jungle Mahal has significantly subsided and the situation is peaceful there.
The State Government has decided to set up 100 mobile towers in the region to bring the remote areas lying under Jungle Mahal in the mobile map and internet connectivity.
The steps will help to strengthen security measures in the areas as well as local people will be benefited by the Services.
The State owned BSNL have been given responsibilities to complete the job within a year. The Central Government is funding the entire project to bring the rural people of the State under complete mobile coverage.
