CBI Registers Preliminary Inquiry Against Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh

CBI Thursday registered a preliminary inquiry against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family in an alleged disproportionate assets case.

Singh has been accused of amassing wealth of 6.1 crore rupees disproportionate to the known sources of income while serving as Union Minister of Steel in UPA Government.

CBI sources said the preliminary inquiry is against Singh and his family members and an LIC agent. They said it is alleged that Singh had invested 6.1 crore rupees in life insurance policies in his and his family members’ names through the LIC agent.
