DRDO Develops Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar informed in Lok Sabha Friday that the Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO, has developed an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, AUV. The vehicle’s capabilities are being tested.

During question hour Parrikar said that the DRDO has also undertaken a feasibility study for developing different types of AUV platforms to be used for surveillance and removal of mines.
