I Am Losing My Heart To UP: Ratan Tata

Chairman emeritus, Tata Sons and Chairman, Tata Trusts Rata Tata Monday gave a big boost to the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh saying that “I am losing my heart to this state” and termed that the largest state in the country had been misunderstood and underplayed in the past.
“UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is admired greatly in the country and the state will make a place in the country and lead the nation in future,” he added.
Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan awardee, Tata, who was here to attend a function to sign a MoU between UP government and Tata Trust on health, education and livilihood sector, said “I cannot express myself, how happy I am.” “It is a great moment and a pleasure for us to sign the MoU with UP government,” he said.
Tata said, “we have got much report of the UP government and dynamics of UP chief minister for the betterment of the people,” The chairman of the Tata Trust, who started his speech in Hindi and later switched over to English, said,”A new UP is underway under the present CM .”
“UP has been misunderstood and the state has been underplayed in the area of development,” he stated while adding, “I will do whatever I can for this state.”
“I can say– I am losing my heart to this state,” he commented. Later he further commented ,” I am a friend of your state and would do whatever required.”
Earlier on November 27 last in Unnao, Tata had assured full support to the state for its industrial development.
“The development which has taken place in Uttar Pradesh or which is on the cards that I have come to know in my meeting with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav … I can only say that I am very much impressed,” said Mr Tata, while inaugurating a handicapped sports academy.
Terming the picture of development of the state as “fantastic”, Tata also assured that he will extend full support in the development of the state in future.
Meanwhile, Tata Trust Executive Trustee R Venkataraman elaborating on the works to be taken up by the organisation in UP, said malnutrient would be the key sector for work with thrust on enemia control intervention.” In the first phase we will work in 10 districts of UP with the help of a professor of Toronto University,” he added.
“We are working in other states too,but UP is very important for us. We will be working in four major sectors, health, education, solar power and livilihood with focus on to change the quality of livelihood of the people of the state ,” he stated.
