Mission Indradhanush : Govt. of India Launches Media Campaign To Educate Masses On Immunisation

23 March , New Delhi

Government Monday launched a media campaign to educate the masses on immunisation, ahead of implementing its ambitious health programme “Mission Indradhanush” in April.

Launching the campaign, Union Health Minister J P Nadda appealed for total cooperation of the society for success of the Mission.

He said, no child should suffer from a disease for which vaccination is available. Nadda cited the awareness gap as one of the key reasons for partial immunization and no immunization.

Seeking support for the media in spreading awareness, Nadda said, it is a powerful instrument to bring change in the society.

Mission Indradhanush aims to cover all those children by 2020 who are either not vaccinated or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases.

Nadda said, four special vaccination campaigns will be conducted for seven days, starting from 7th of April and will be repeated on the same date for four consecutive month.
