PM Modi Approves Rs. 427 crores Aid For J&K Flood Victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved financial aid worth Rs.426.83 crore from the Prime Ministers National Relief Fund for flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

This aid will benefit 1.87 lakh owners of houses damaged in the floods. The assistance is being provided to the owners of severely and partially damaged pucca and Kacha houses. Jammu and Kashmir Governor had met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the Prime Minister last month and sought early sanction of additional relief.

 

The financial assistance will be distributed through National Disaster Management Authority who would finalize the data about beneficiaries in consultation with the state government and transfer the assistance directly to the existing bank accounts of the beneficiaries or through the newly opened Aadhar linked Jhan Dhan Yojna accounts.
